Problem

Caring for a wound that won't heal is a difficult job. If not treated properly, seemingly minor wounds may get worse. The problem with current solutions is that they require frequent replacements of the dressing, slowing down the healing process and increasing trauma and possibility for contamination.

Solution

A sterile super absorbent dressing. To be used for wounds with high to excessive secretion. It consists of a super absorbent core, a clear perforated polyurethane contact layer and a hydrophobic pad. The super absorbent properties of the dressing ensure less frequent replacement of the dressing, the frequency of the dressing replacement is reduced, which helps optimize the healing process, minimizes trauma during dressing replacement, and the hydrophobic layer protects against contamination of the wound and sticking to the dressing. The above-mentioned properties of the dressing make the wound care easier for the medical personnel and they save time and funds.

Market

The global advanced wound dressing market size was valued at USD 6.6 billion in 2020 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.5% from 2021 to 2028.

The demand for advanced wound dressing is increasing owing to technological advancements, an increasing number of surgical procedures, and the rising prevalence of chronic wounds across the globe.

The increasing incidence of chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and other autoimmune diseases is driving the demand for advanced wound dressing.

Factors such as antimicrobial resistance, adoption of unhealthy and sedentary lifestyles, alcohol consumption, and smoking are some of the major factors contributing to the rise in the prevalence of non-communicable diseases.
